Enhancing Plant Health: Deep Learning Approaches for Precise Disease Detection

The occurrence of plant diseases has an awfully adverse impact on agriculture and farmers. When plant diseases are not identified in time, the disease spreads, and food insecurity will increase. Early detection of these diseases is necessary to prevent and control them. Plant disease is a main source for identifying plant diseases since most symptoms of plant disease appear on their leaves. So, we can use leaves to predict the disease a plant might be infected with by analyzing the patterns on these leaves. To do this, we use machine learning or deep learning algorithms to train image data on the leaves and predict the diseases. The machine learning and deep learning algorithms were analyzed and compared to predict plant diseases. In deep learning, Densenet has proven to be the most suitable algorithm for plant disease detection.
