Live Wall: An AI based Visual Seeker Through Human tracking

Museums are educational and cultural institutions that intends to create narratives concerning nature, life, human, history, science, technology or any other field of human understanding. In creating these narratives, technology is always a great aid. Traditionally, timeline and linear narratives are like the staple storytelling tools in a museum. The point however is the resolution of change – how sensitive the system is, so that even a small shift of the control in linear dimension or the temporal scale can trigger a desired change in display. By developing several such linear scanning and correlated context-switching technologies, the National Council of Science Museums standardized the interactive reading wall technologies one of whose earlier versions have been reported in [10]. However, in those IR/ proximity sensor-based systems resolution always had a limit decided by the technology and the visitor had to move the control manually. In this paper we report two very significant HCI improvements that practically can revolutionize this essential museological tool – using the body as the controller or handler of the story and adoption of AI to achieve an accurate means to implement visitor-tracking.
