An Innovative Simplistic Solar Powered Low-Cost Dry Waste Segregator Robot

This paper introduces an innovative and straightforward approach to waste management through a solar-powered, low-cost robot designed for efficient dry waste segregation. The primary focus of this segregator robot design lies in its simplicity, affordability, and user-friendliness. By harnessing solar energy, it reduces reliance on conventional power sources and advocates for sustainable waste management practices. The system has successfully demonstrated the segregation of dry waste materials such as paper, metal, plastic, and glass, all automated for enhanced efficiency. The process begins with a blower positioned at the conveyor’s outset, effectively removing lightweight materials like paper. A rotatable electromagnetic system, equipped with two electromagnets, continuously moves over the conveyor belt, facilitating the separation of materials. To segregate plastic and glass, a density separator with a sieve is affixed to a container, with a servomotor for precise control. This setup efficiently removes floating plastic waste from the container, allowing for the subsequent collection of remaining glass waste. This technology exhibits substantial potential to revolutionize waste segregation procedures, boost recycling rates, and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
