A Smart Anti-Collision System for Car Doors

Currently, both bicycles and motorbikes play a major role in short-distance transportation in cities and the increase in the number of these types of vehicles increases the risk of accidents on the road in the same way that driving a car increases the risk of accidents on the road. Motorcycles and cars have a high percentage of anti-collision accidents when the driver opens the door without first checking the Rear-view mirror for motorcycles approaching. The careless act of opening car doors without caution poses a significant safety risk to cyclists and pedestrians. Therefore, recognition of the rear approaching vehicles has been proposed to reduce accidents. It is composed of an Ultrasonic sensor that detects the speed and distance of a rear object. Sound waves are produced by ultrasonic sensors at frequencies that humans cannot hear and it also consists servo motor to lock the vehicle's door. The servo motor is controlled by Arduino UNO. This anti-collision system is called a Collision Mitigation System. When the servo motor coil is excited then the car door will be automatically locked. To prevent accidents between a motorcycle and a car door, the proposed system is designed to recognize approaching vehicles from behind both day and at night and prevent vehicles from opening the vehicle doorinappropriately to prevent a collision between the motorcycle and the automobile door. This system is more economical and fewer components are used which reduces the cost of the system.
