360-Degree Disinfection Box using Ultraviolet Sterilization with IoT

This study presents a novel approach to preventing the spread of Covid-19 through physical contact by designing a sterilization box that incorporates UV-C shortwave radiation. The box is controlled by an ATmega2560 microcontroller which enhances its efficiency. To avoid transmission through touch, we developed an IoT system that enables users to access the sterilization box using a mobile application on their smart devices without the necessity of physical contact with the device. By utilizing a Bluetooth HC-05 module, the tool can be controlled using a smartphone, thereby reducing the risk of Covid-19 transmission through physical contact. This novel approach proves to be an efficient method in mitigating the transmission of Covid-19 and can potentially be implemented in public spaces in order to minimize the chances of transmission.
