Performance Analysis of CFSR-DC-DC Converter for EV Applications

This paper presents a novel current-fed series resonant converter (CFSRC) designed specifically for electric vehicle applications. The primary innovation of this converter lies in its ability to achieve Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) for the semiconductor switches on the primary side. This is accomplished through precise coordination of voltage and current within the series resonant tank circuit. Notably, this inventive technique enables the switches to turn off seamlessly, eliminating the necessity for snubber circuits. As a result, both circulating currents and switching losses are significantly reduced, leading to a notable improvement in overall efficiency. The efficacy of the proposed converter is validated through extensive simulations conducted using MATLAB Simulink, which demonstrate enhanced performance and behavior across various parameters.
