Fuzzy-based Gear Shifting Algorithm for Twin-drive in MATLAB Simulink model

Our research endeavors to advance the field of automatic gear shifting within electric twin drive systems for standard buses. This paper highlights a significant milestone in the development of a MATLAB Simulink model tailored to twin drive systems, enriched with a Fuzzy-based decision-making unit embedded within the Transmission Control Unit (TCU). This model is further fortified with a torque-limiting safeguard mechanism to prevent engine overspeeding. Moreover, it possesses the capability to override the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) in certain scenarios, particularly in the context of gear transitions. The comprehensive model and its functionalities have been meticulously constructed, embodying a critical contribution to the realm of electric twin drive systems.Our study addresses the specific challenges posed by twin drives, thus elevating the sophistication of gear shifting algorithms. These technical achievements pave the way for enhanced energy efficiency and overall performance within the electric twin drive bus domain.
