Optimal Placement of Electric Vehicle Charging Station Considering Land Cost & Traffic Congestion

Due to a significant rise in electric vehicles (EVs) numbers, their integration becomes more important, and their allocation must consider accessibility and installation cost for a more realistic problem formulation. In this paper, the two-stage problem formulation is implemented. In the first stage, the indices are calculated, considering the accessibility and location cost of the nodes where the charging stations are optimally placed. In the second stage, the optimal integration of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) and distributed generation (DG) is applied on IEEE 33-Bus system by using Jaya Algorithm considering the indices calculated in the first stage. This research aims to reduce power losses, improve voltage variation, and allocate the charging stations at those locations where the land cost is low and high accessibility of these locations.
