Performance Analysis of Grid-Integrated: V2G, G2V, EV and PV Systems for Power Flow Optimization

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy sources like photovoltaic (PV) systems has brought forth the need to optimize power flow between these sources, the grid, EVs, PV, and various loads. This paper presents a comprehensive performance analysis of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V), grid-to-DC and AC loads. EV and PV systems in terms of power flow dynamics, grid integration, and overall system efficiency. The study examines the bidirectional power exchange capabilities of V2G and G2V technologies, including PV and EV to the grid. The impact of EV charging and discharging on the grid current and the utilization of PV energy for charging EVs and supplying power to the grid and connected loads. A front-end converter is required for nonlinear loads. The simulation for various topologies is done using Matlab Simulink.
