The Influence of Temperature on the Efficiency of a Mini Photovoltaic Panel

This study focuses on the analysis of efficient operation of photovoltaic panels, in conditions of artificial variations of the ambient temperature. For this, a small chamber equipped with a heating system and a temperature monitoring system was used. The panels were positioned inside the chamber, provided with insulating glass walls, allowing light to penetrate, making possible the generation of solar energy. The system is also provided with a light intensity monitoring sensor to be sure that the light does not decrease in intensity. The temperature was modified between 34 and 70 degrees Celsius. NI USB 6008 and LabVIEW were used to acquire the signals, the temperature sensor (thermocouple K) and light intensity sensor (phototransistor) for monitoring the respective parameters. Based on the proposed temperature variation, it was found that the voltage value at the cell terminals decreases significantly with the increase in temperature.
