Frequency Stabilization in a Two-Area Power System under Reorganized Configuration using Metaheuristic Search Algorithm

this study looks at how to stabilize the frequency of a two-area thermal power system that doesn't reheat using a PID controller that has been improved with the help of two metaheuristic search algorithms: the skill optimization algorithm (SOA) and the differential evolutionary (DE) algorithm. The GENCOs (three in number) and DISCOs (two in number) are examined in each domain. DISCO Participation Matrix (DPM) helps bilateral contracts. Design variables are the controller gain settings utilized to minimize the objective function ITAE (Integral Time Weighted Absolute Error). The suggested controllers are well-designed and employed to study the system's dynamic behaviors when both regions are exposed to a 1% step load perturbation. Classical PID and PSO-PID controllers are compared to DE-PID. To verify the recommended controllers' resilience, unpredictably changing step loads are provided in zone 1. Last but not least, in the burst condition, the performance of the SOA-PID controller is compared with that of the DE-PID controller. For every control system created in MATLAB R2013a/Simulink, simulation results are evaluated.
