Synopsis of Pulse Modulator for Beam Chopper in LANSCE Particle Accelerator

Particle accelerators apply electromagnetic field to drive charged particles at high speed and high energy, called beam, to specific targets a wide range of experiments in nuclear physics and materials science. Beam chopper is a critical device responsible for controlling the timing and intensity of accelerated particle beams. This paper provides a comprehensive synopsis of the pulse modulator system developed and implemented at Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE). The pulse modulator system plays a pivotal role in shaping the temporal characteristics of the high voltage pulse, allowing synchronization with detectors and target systems for successful experiments.
