Electronic Hive Management System for a Beekeeping Vehicle

This paper aims to digitize the beekeeping field, allowing the monitoring of hives and facilitates beekeeper intervention in a vehicle used to transport bees’ families between flowering areas. The system is based on the “master – slave” principle, using the main/master unit to process and display the information received from the secondary/slave units on a designated touchscreen. In order to achieve system accessibility, three levels of slave units (low-mid-high) and a microcontroller programmer used by the slave units were developed. The scientific and technical work consists in the development of the system, from schematic conception to printed circuits design and manufacturing, assembling, and testing of the whole system for proper operation in a real-life environment.
