A Single-Active Switch SCN-supported Enhanced Boost DC-DC converter for PV application

A high-gain non-isolated Single-Active Switch Enhanced Boost Converter (SASEBC) for use in applications using renewable energy is presented. The utilization of a switched capacitor network (SCN) is a common tool to amplify the voltage of the converter linked to the RES, to attain the required gain. This is due to the fact that the integration of the renewable source is typically conducted at a voltage level significantly higher than the generated voltage. The proposed SASEBC utilizes a modified SCN and has only one switch and two inductors included in its construction. Some of the distinctive features of SASEBC are that the level of complexity associated with controlling circuit is really low and it has reduced device voltage and current stresses in comparison to other converters that are functionally analogous. It operates at a high efficiency of over 96% for a power rating converter simulation prototype that has 180W. PSIM is used to test the outcomes of a 180W simulation prototype, and the findings are verified using open and closed-loop simulation.
