Real-time Data Analysis Using Industrial Sensors

This paper presents a detailed analysis of the network for temperature and vibration sensors installed for monitoring automotive transmission test equipment. Recent results show that wireless vibration sensors are a better alternative than wired sensors. After a year of analysis and research, we can assess the strengths and weaknesses as well as the capabilities of such a network. The result is excellent: no more unexpected downtime of our assembly lines and this with minimal effort and budget. The proposed network can be extended to almost all machines and workstations, it can detect possible damages, imbalances or misalignments. This allows easier and more convenient planning of long-term maintenance, manpower or spare parts needs.
