Automated Sewage Cleaning and Management System

Manual scavenging, the practice of manually cleaning waste from sewers and septic tanks, remains a persistent problem in India. Despite the use of protective gear, manual scavenging is dangerous and has killed 330 scavengers from 2017 to 2021. In addition to posing a serious risk to health and safety, manual scavenging also violates human dignity. To address this problem, we propose an automated sewage cleaning system that eliminates the need for manual scavenging, thereby improving safety and dignity. The system is used to detect and remove impurities and pollutants from sewage waste, reducing the need for manual intervention. The system also reduces the environmental impact of waste disposal by promoting proper waste management. By eliminating manual scavenging, the proposed system can significantly reduce the risks of occupational hazards associated with manual scavenging, such as exposure to toxic gases and suffocation. This will promote a healthier and safer working environment for those who otherwise have to engage in manual scavenging. The proposed system improves safety and dignity and promotes environmental sustainability by facilitating proper waste management. The adoption of an automated sewage cleaning system can bring about a long-term solution to the problem of manual scavenging in India and other developing countries. The implementation of an automated sewage cleaning system offers a viable solution to the persistent problem of manual scavenging. It eliminates the need for manual scavengers and improves safety, dignity, and environmental sustainability.
