Fabrication of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite for Bumper

International regulations regarding the use of electricity in vehicles and emission standards are forcing the automobile industry to explore other materials for energy consumption and heavy-duty work. The bumper is one of the heavier models. In this study, it is aimed to reduce the weight of the bumpers with fiber reinforced polymer hybrid composites. Different from the above fibers, it is used as a composite material by using fibers such as E-type, S-type glass fiber and carbon fiber. In this article, the design and production of hybrid fiber reinforced composites for bumpers that will increase the weight of the bumpers are carried out. The composites were subjected to different properties, including tensile, impact and three-point bending tests. The results obtained are comparable to previous composite materials, except for insufficient weight reduction. Compounds with a higher percentage of carbon are considered to have the highest tensile strength.
