Comprehensive Review of Assessment and Accreditation Status of HEI in Maharashtra: For Designing Prediction Model of NAAC Grades

Accreditation and assessment are identified as essential components for ensuring the quality of higher education. This paper examines the assessment and accreditation status of higher education institutes under the Directorate of Higher Education in Maharashtra, India, from 1999 to 2022. The objective of the paper is to analyse the NAAC accreditation status of Higher Educational Institutes in Maharashtra. And it also discusses the growth of higher education institutes in Maharashtra and the role of the Directorate of Higher Education in regulating and supervising them. The work highlights the need for serious attention to quality concerns in higher education and the potential for the directorate to promote institutional and individual excellence. To collects NAAC data from secondary sources to evaluate the NAAC status of each institution in Maharashtra from 1999 to 2022. This study to addresses the research questions of the history and current state of assessment and accreditation, major trends and patterns in assessment and accreditation status, and how the assessment and accreditation status of these institutes have changed over time. This study will also serve as a valuable resource for researchers, academics, and other stakeholders interested in the quality of higher education. The review will provide an overview of the current status of accreditation and assessment in higher education and identify any areas for future research and exploration.
