The main aim is to focus on successful strategies to produce bioactive compounds from citrus fruit peel by profiting from fruit waste. The scope of this study was to identify, characterize, purify and extract bioactive compounds from citrus fruit peels. Citrus fruits are renowned for their vibrant flavors and high nutritional value, but it is their often-underestimated peels that hold a treasure trove of bioactive compounds with significant potential for human health. This study delves into the exploration and characterization of the diverse bioactive constituents present in citrus fruit peels, aiming to provide an in-depth understanding of their functional properties and potential health benefits. Through a comprehensive literature review and empirical investigations, this research uncovers a myriad of bioactive compounds within citrus peels, including flavonoids, limonoids, carotenoids, and essential oils. These constituents are known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antimicrobial properties. Moreover, they exhibit remarkable potential in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions.
