A Novel Bipolar High Voltage Repetitive Pulse Power Supply with Solid State Switches

This paper proposes a new topology for a bipolar all-solid-state Marx generator that uses an LCL resonant converter for constant current supply. The circuit topology and working principle of the pulse generator are elaborated in detail. Additionally, a simulation circuit for the power supply is built using Simplorer software, including imported inductance models from PExprt for joint simulation. Based on the obtained simulation results, this power supply produces bipolar pulse voltage from 0-4 kV with adjustable repetitive frequency up to 4 kHz and pulse width of 5-10us. Its advantages include its compact structure, zero-voltage turn-on (ZVS), excellent scalability, as well as adjustable output parameters. These characteristics make the power supply a promising tool for engineering applications.
