Numerical Simulation of Methanol-Diesel Engine Emissions Based on CONVERGE

As a kind of good clean energy, methanol can reduce the conventional emission and produce the unconventional emission of methanol and formaldehyde. In this paper, based on CFD simulation, the law of methanol diesel mixed fuel in different mixing ratio, combustion chamber initial temperature, formaldehyde and CO emission changes were simulated. The results show that, compared with diesel fuel, CO emission decreases with the increase of methanol ratio. The emissions of formaldehyde and methanol are positively correlated with the proportion of methanol and the initial combustion chamber temperature, but the growth rate is not linear.
