A Low-cost On-orbit Deployment Driving Circuit For Satellite Umbrella Antenna

Star-carried umbrella antenna is commonly used in large-capacity, high-speed data relay and communications, because of its reflector aperture is generally larger, therefore, the launch is in a folded state, when the satellite into orbit will be unfolded by the controller. The on-orbit deployment of this type of antenna is generally in accordance with a fixed angle of constant velocity. According to the characteristics of its constant speed, fixed angle and one-time unfolding, this paper proposes a low cost, high efficiency stepper motor control method, which realizes the motion control of the stepper motor through the combination of logic circuits. Compared with the anti-irradiation CPU or anti-fuse FPGA control system configured with common starboard controllers, the design is characterized by low cost and high efficiency, which is suitable for the development trend of miniaturization and low cost of space payloads.
