Application of Engineering Fast Control Technology in Bed Temperature Control of CFB

Bed temperature is a crucial parameter for circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, as it impacts the safety, stability, economy, and environmental sustainability of boiler operation. However, due to the complexity of control objectives such as nonlinearity, delay, and inertia, automatic bed temperature control remains a challenge for most boilers. This article introduces the principle, structure, and parameter tuning method of Engineering Fastest Controller (EFC) and its application in bed temperature control. Through examples, we clarify the bed temperature control system architecture with EFC as the core, modeling, controller parameter calculation, feedforward setting, and actual operation effects. Practical experience has shown that EFC significantly enhances bed temperature control performance, improves feedback control effectiveness, provides an innovative solution for CFB bed temperature control, and promotes technological advancement.
