The influence of salt alkali pollution components on the temperature field of contact line insulators

The pollution components accumulated on the contact network insulators of the Lanxin Railway in saline alkali areas are diverse. This study explores the effects of different pollution components, environmental temperature, and pollution layer thickness on the surface temperature field of insulators. Taking FQBJ-25/12 type insulators as the research object, a temperature field simulation model is established using the coupling of AC electric field and solid heat transfer field. The research results indicate that the dry pollution layer will not affect the surface temperature of insulators. When the pollution is wet, the surface temperature of insulators corresponding to different pollution components is different. The order of surface temperature from low to high is CaSO4, MgSO4, Na2SO4, KNO3, NaCl, and the conductivity of each wet pollution layer component is the main factor affecting the surface temperature. The higher the ambient temperature is, the higher the surface temperature is. But, as the ambient temperature increases, its surface temperature rise decreases. An increase in the thickness of the wet pollution layer will slightly increase the surface temperature of the insulator. This conclusion explains the influence of various influencing factors on insulator surface temperature from the perspective of temperature distribution. It can evaluate the operation status of insulators through the change in surface temperature.
