Fault Detection of Relay Protection Secondary Circuit in the Digital Substation

To address the limitations of traditional relay protection secondary circuit fault detection methods, such as low detection rate, long detection time, and low failure rate, a novel digital substation relay protection secondary circuit fault detection method is proposed. This method utilizes historical data from digital substations to distinguish the state of the secondary circuit by Bayesian discriminant analysis. Based on the discrimination results, an improved D-S evidence theory is applied to detect faults in the relay protection secondary circuit. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a high detection rate for digital substation relay protection secondary circuit faults, significantly reduces the detection time, and exhibits a low fault occurrence rate. The obtained detection results are deemed reliable. Overall, the proposed digital substation relay protection secondary circuit fault detection method offers improvements in terms of detection rate, detection time, fault occurrence rate, and result reliability compared to traditional methods.
