Short-circuit fault analysis of an electrically excited doubly salient generator

Wound-excited Doubly Salient Machine (WEDSM) is widely used in aerospace because of its simple structure, convenient manufacture, reliable operation and flexible air-gap flux regulation, new Energy and other fields have potential application value. The fault-tolerant structure of five-phase 20/16-pole Wound-excited Doubly Salient Generator (WEDSG) is introduced firstly, then the short circuit fault in its fault-tolerant characteristic is analyzed theoretically, and the fault-tolerant characteristic of five-phase 20/16-pole WEDSG is verified by experiments, in this paper.
