Enhancement of Time Response in Nine Bus System Using Closed Loop Hysteresis Controlled Hybrid Power Flow Controller

To solve power quality challenges, a hybrid power flow controller (HPFC) based on FACTS technology is suggested. To reduce issues like sag, swell, and current harmonics in a 9-bus system, the HPFC integrates a coordinated PQ theory and a hysteresis controller (HC). The control method uses solar and wind energy systems as the power sources and combines proportional resonant (PR) control with hysteresis control. Results from the proposed HC are compared to those from PR controllers in order to confirm its efficacy. The results show that by lowering the amplitude peak of the transition rise/fall voltage and eliminating voltage oscillations during compensation, the hysteresis controller greatly improves the voltage profile. Additionally, voltage correction and harmonics reduction demonstrate the superiority of the designed HPFC with HC. This research study offers a closed loop micro-grid system with a hysteresis controller that operates under various load conditions in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
