Research on Comprehensive Modification of Industrial Robot Joint Gear Transmission System

Gear transmission is one of the main transmission forms in industrial robots. During operation, more heat is generated, resulting in thermal deformation and thermal failure of the gear. For this problem, the thermal behavior of gear are studied. The thermal boundary conditions are determined by MATLAB. The gear steady-state thermal analysis is completed by ANSYS. To reduce the maximum contact temperature, the comprehensive modification of tooth profile and tooth trace is studied. The results show that comprehensive modification can improve the gear surface load distribution, make gear high temperature region move from tooth root and top to the tooth profile middle and improve the gear anti-gluing ability. The research results have important guiding significance for thermal analysis and gear modification design.
