Material Selection for Optimal Design Using Multi-Criteria Decision Making

A multi-criteria decision-making challenge with conflicting and dissimilar objectives is frequently observed in the selection of the appropriate material in all engineering designs. In this study, an integrated methodology is presented for determining the best material for engineering designs. The weighting criteria are calculated using the AHP method, and these alternatives are ranked in order of preference. Determined by applying the TOPSIS method. For the best design, four material selection criteria are used in this study along with five different alternative martial arts. Composite Material C2 is the greatest material for engineering designs, according to the research findings. Using a case study, the process is demonstrated.
