Feasibility Study on Rooftop Solar Power Plant Installation in Vocational High School Workshop

Being a country intersected by the equator, Indonesia has strong potential for solar power plant (SPP) development. This potential is further harnessed by the National Energy General Plan, which advocates for the installation of SPP, especially in governments buildings. As the vocational high school that has Electrical Engineering departments, SPP is extremely valuable, serving not only as a resource of renewable electricity but also as practical learning tools for students. The SPP is designed with 80 units of 300 Wp solar panels on the top of the workshop. The total capital cost for the development is Rp. 304.060.000,- in which it is deemed feasible with the positive Net Present Value of Rp. 4.064.652,-, an Internal Return Rate of 10.62%, and a Pay Back Period for the investment in year 8.
