Optimal Placement and Sizing of Multiple DGs in an Unbalanced Load Flow Using GOA Direct-ZBR and AGOA Direct-ZBR Methods to Determine The Lowest Active Power Loss Value

This paper proposes the Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (GOA) and Adaptive GOA (AGOA) methods as optimization methods in placing multiple distribute generator (DGs) and sizing DGs in IEEE 15 bus unbalanced distribution systems. AGOA is a development of the GOA method by adding the LFD and Spiral Path methods in the population position update section. The unbalanced load flow (ULF) process in this paper uses the Direct-Z

method and has been verified with ETAP software results. The results of the unbalanced LF of the Direct-Z
BR
method show accurate results after verification with ETAP. The GOA and AGOA methods also show the same optimal results by producing DG placement positions on bus 8 and bus 5 with capacities 1.5 MW and 2.0 MW respectively. After placing and sizing the DG, the active power loss value also improved by 34.78%.
