Design of Antenna and Low Profile Metamaterial Array for Compact Antenna Test Range

In this paper, a reflective compact antenna test range based on low profile meta material array is proposed, aiming to reduce the cost of traditional compact antenna test range. The system comprises a choke coil horn antenna and a reflective array formed by triple-ring electromagnetic Metamaterial units. The half-power beam width of the choke coil horn antenna is 46°, ensuring uniform electric field distribution within the main coverage area and rapidly decreasing to zero at the edges, minimizing the impact of edge effects on the quiet zone. The electromagnetic metamaterial units employ a triple-ring structure, providing a 360° phase shift capability, and the phase shift curves at different frequencies are parallel and equidistant, satisfying the requirements of broadband theory. cm. In the frequency range from 25 GHz to 26 GHz, the peak-to-peak field amplitude is less than 1.6dB and the peak-to-peak phase is less than 10°, the system achieves a quiet zone with a diameter of 18 cm.
