Thermodynamic Parameters and Energy Transfer Analysis of High Enthalpy Inductively Coupled Plasma

In the thermal assessment and electromagnetic ex-periments of plasma sheath ground simulation, the enthalpy val-ue can reflect the energy characteristics of the plasma jet region. The plasma electromagnetic science experimental research device can generate a high enthalpy plasma jet. The plasma in this de-vice is generated by the inductive coupling of a megawatt level power supply. The plasma has the characteristics of long duration, large size (generator diameter 180mm, length 650mm; vac-uum anechoic chamber diameter 7m, length 3m), high temperature, and discharge frequency maintained at 440kHz, obtaining a plasma with unique physical parameters. This article focuses on the electromagnetic science experimental research device for high-speed target plasma in near space, and studies the discharge energy characteristics of large-sized, high-power, and high-frequency inductively coupled plasma through numerical simulation. Using the magnetohydrodynamic model coupled with elec-tromagnetic field, temperature field and flow field, the numerical simulation of the heat transfer process of inductively coupled plasma device when the working power of high-frequency power supply is 100kW is obtained, and the distribution and law of plasma temperature and enthalpy value in the generator and cavity are obtained, and the coil losses and spatial radiation val-ues are calculated, which can provide important data support for the basic research on the effect of high temperature gas such as communication channels and ablation of thermal protection ma-terials in space vehicles.
