A Single-Fed Dual-Band Fabry-Perot Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Communications

A single-fed Fabry-Perot antenna with high gains in
$K$
and Ka bands is presented. The antenna is composed of a printed magneto-electric (ME) dipole, an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) reflector and a partially reflective surface (PRS). The AMC unit cells, which are periodically arranged surround the ME dipole, can not only enhance the dual-band operation, but also adjust the cavity thickness in both operation bands. The final antenna is designed to have its impedance bandwidth of22.1 ~ 23.1 GHz and 30.2 ~ 31.2 GHz, with the peak gains of 14.5 and 14.5 dBi, respectively.
