Study of Bi-SAR Imaging Simulation Based on GNSS Reflected Signal

Bistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging is studied by virtue of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems Reflectometry (GNSS-R) signal as external radiation source. The back projection (BP) imaging algorithm is employed for GNSS-R SAR imaging simulation. The study investigates the resolution differences among four different imaging modes of Bi-SAR and their impact on imaging effectiveness in simulation. Simulation results indicate that a narrower bandwidth of the C/A code has inferior range resolution while P code with a larger bandwidth has a better resolution. It is also indicated that the usage of airborne and backscatter modes gives rise to a better imaging result.
