L-Band Pulse Compression Design and Testing Applied to HPM System

L-band high-power microwave pulse compression device has the function of converting long-time low-power microwave pulses into short-time high-power microwave pulses, which has a broad application prospect in the fields of radar, nuclear fusion heating, directional weapons, and so on. This paper proposes a high-power microwave source system integration scheme based on high-power klystrons and pulse compression, and a high-power pulse compression verification system is designed and built. Compact high-power microwave pulse compression device operating in the L-band has been designed using a spherical energy storage resonant cavity and a dual-mode polarizer. While the field is established in the spherical resonant cavity, part of the energy is radiated through the coupling hole. After the cavity has stored energy, an inverse signal is input, and the radiated power of the cavity is superimposed on the reflected power to achieve power growth.
