A Range Estimation Algorithm for Correction of Spectral Line in FMCW Radar and Implementation

In order to enhance the ranging accuracy of FMCW radar, a high-precision ranging algorithm, referred to as the FDZ algorithm (FFT+DFT+ZFFT ranging method), has been proposed. This algorithm operates as follows: it first performs a range-Dimension Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) on the input beat signal to obtain an approximate frequency range. Subsequently, to address situations where spectral refinement is susceptible to interference, it calculates the amplitude values at points around the peak frequency within $\pm \Delta f/2$, determines the spectral refinement interval, and employs the Zoom-FFT algorithm for fine-tuning. Finally, it accurately determines the peak spectral line position and target distance. MATLAB simulations have shown that, under conditions where 0dB
