Design, Implementation, and Research of Non-Linear Boolean Functions in Sequence Cryptography Based on AIC Structure

In cryptography, the design and implementation of sequence cryptography algorithms are challenging due to the complex structure of Non-Linear Boolean Function (NLBF) and limitations of available reconfigurable resources. This makes sequence cryptography as a top topic in cryptography. This paper systematically analyzes 49 sequence cryptography algorithms, and summarizes characteristics of the number of XOR terms, AND terms, input ports, and variables, basing on their NLBF. This paper investigates the characteristics of the And-Inverter Cones(AICs) logic units and cluster units, analyzes the AICs structure's capability in implementing nonlinear Boolean functions in stream ciphers, and proposes a high-performance, low-resource utilization design scheme for a reconfigurable non-linear Boolean function operation unit. From experimental verification, the logic synthesis tool ABC concludes that the AICs structure is more suitable for the reconfigurability of NLBF compared to the traditional Look-Up Table (LUT) structure. Comparing to the traditional LUT structure, the ABC results show there is 39.8% reduction in delay and 23.2% reduction in area.
