Performance Upgradation of Roof Top Solar PV Systems for Establishing Green Electricity

It is pragmatic that performances of majority of the installed rooftop solar power plants across the nation are degrading progressively irrespective of their guaranteed performance. To justify the aforesaid statement, an existing 500.3 kWp rooftop solar PV system is considered and its performance for past 3 years is analyzed. It was found that the annual energy generation got reduced from 234551 kWh (2020) to 115888 kWh (2021) and further to 74016 kWh (2022). The root-cause behind it was investigated by introducing continuance check factor and predicting the performance of the system and validating it through physical inspection. A methodology has been proposed for recapturing the generation loss and establish the green electricity.
