A Machine Learning-based Blockchain Model for the Storage of Maternal Health Records and Safety Prediction

Maternal health refers to all aspects of pregnancy, prenatal and postnatal care. Technological advancements have improved maternal healthcare extensively yet some of the issues that exists in providing healthcare services are data security, informed decisions, reliability and transparency. Use of modern medical technology can help to overcome these issues and lower the number of maternal deaths. In this paper, we have tried to merge blockchain technology with ML enabled predictive analytics algorithm for collecting, analyzing and storing maternal healthcare information protected and predicting the complications degree of risk during pregnancy. As the patient data stored in blockchain cannot be modified, it helps in providing security and reliability. A blockchain based system to predict pregnancy complications has been proposed. To assess this system a dataset has been used that can be accessed publicly.
