Detection of induction motor faults: Through fuzzy logic and frequency analysis

Induction machines are widely used in industries. Thus, maintaining them becomes a cost-effective and productive solution for the success of such an industry. The detection method used in this paper is based on sidebands around the supply frequency in the stator current signal and vibration. The paper mainly focuses on how to localize such errors as broken rotor bar faults and other mechanical defects and the possible solutions through fuzzy inference systems
