Spectral Behavior Optimization of Uniform Fiber Bragg Grating-Inscribed in SMF-28 Fiber

Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their unique spectral behavior and potential applications in various fields. This research paper presents an optimization of three physical parameters of uniform FBGs in Single Mode Fiber (SMF) core, focusing on their spectral behavior. The study investigates important characteristic specifications of FBGs: grating refractive index, grating width, and the number of gratings. Through extensive simulations, optimal values for these parameters are determined. The investigation of these physical factors demonstrates how these elements have an impact on the bandwidth and center-wavelength of the reflected light. It is found that a grating width of $\Lambda / 2$, a grating refractive index of 1.4950, and 60 gratings result in a narrow-band spectral filter with a reflected band centered at the Bragg wavelength of 1565 nm.
