Development of GUI and Slot Booking System for Marine Vessel Charging

The adoption of electric vessels (E-vessel) is becoming increasingly important in the global effort towards achieving a sustainable future for maritime transportation. To facilitate their growth, an efficient and user-friendly charging infrastructure is essential. The research proposes a ship charging solution featuring a graphical user interface (GUI) for monitoring and slot booking, an algorithm for slot allocation, and slot detection for effective management. Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) ensures secure and reliable communication between the charging station and vessel. The system enables Evessels to check slot availability, book priority slots, and receive power based on demand. Real-time monitoring simplifies charging process management for operators. A web-based platform allows convenient remote access to the charging infrastructure, facilitating slot booking and monitoring. The system is designed to scale and integrate with other charging systems and future upgrades. Utilizing LoRaWAN ensures cost-effectiveness and reliability. The proposed system aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the maritime industry and support the growth of E-vessels, making it a sustainable and reliable solution for the future of maritime transportation.
