Generalized Hybrid Matrix Method Study on Vortical Differential Scattering of a Magnetized Plasma Sheath

Vortex electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation in a magnetized plasma sheath is explored by incorporating the vector angular spectrum expansion technique into the generalized hybrid matrix method (GHMM). The generalized hybrid matrices tracing tangential field components and relating four eigenstates through the anisotropic multilayer are derived by introducing the anisotropic constitutive relation of the magnetized plasma sheath for the Bessel vortex EM waves. After performing the validation of the method, effects of the working frequency, anisotropic permittivity, and thickness of the plasma, as well as topological charge on vortex EM characteristics, including vortical differential scattering (VDS) for p- and
${s}$
-polarized obliquely incident vortex wave, are analyzed. The numerical analysis suggests that vortex waves can serve as an effective means to enhance spectrum efficiency, more information will be presented by the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) of waves for wireless communications blackout.
