Nanoscale Optical Bandpass Filter For Lightwave Communication Network

Advances in nanophotonic devices clear a path for development of high-speed communication networks. We propose a design of optical filter using photonic crystal resonator. This silicon platform-based nanostructure composed of three resonators and two waveguides. The optical filter performance parameters are numerically analyzed by Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The proposed design offers narrow bandwidth of 0.4 nm which suitable for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Systems.
