Design and Development of an Indigenous Ground Station for LEO Orbit Satellites

This paper presents the outcomes of an ongoing research project titled ‘Pico Satellite for Bangladesh’ focused on the design and development of a ground station for tracking picosatellites. The primary objective of this research initiative is to design and develop a versatile., indigenous, and economical ground station optimized for communicating with CubeSats situated in the lower Earth orbit (LEO). Specifically, it provides an extensive overview of fabrication of the ground station involving a unidirectional antenna., augmented with an automated tracking system. The work is extended further towards the acquisition of data from a selection of satellites. Notably., the station functions successfully at a frequency tailored to precise needs., underscoring the significance of customization and cost-effectiveness in its design.
