Integro- Differential Modeling of Electromagnetic Field Dosimetry on the Human Head

The worldwide proliferation of smartphones has made our lives more comfortable, but the radiation risks, particularly for children, are a cause for concern. It is therefore essential to reduce electromagnetic wave (EMW) radiation levels. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the dosimetric parameter used to assess radiofrequency (RF) radiation. In this paper, we propose an analysis of SAR in the head, as well as the study of the bioheating function to determine the effect of temperature and duration of exposure. The effect of aging is also analyzed. The method of moments (MoM) is used to investigate this challenge, and it is finalized by the Finite Element Method (FEM). The results confirm the importance of performing a thermal effects analysis in addition to dosimetric analysis. At the same radiated power, SAR levels are below safety guidelines, except in the Skin and Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF). In addition, the temperature rise induced in the skin, under all conditions examined, reached 0.12°C for a one-second exposure. For long-term exposure, adverse thermal effects are induced. However, we propose to use protective materials such as polyester (PET) film and Ag (Anti-Glare) film to shield the body during telephone communications to reduce this absorption.
