Variable Load to Enhance RF-DC Rectification Efficiency

This paper presents Radio Frequency-Direct Currents (RF-DC) Rectifier that operates at 1GHz. The proposed circuit aims to improve RF-DC rectification efficiency by reducing the rectifier temperature sensitivity using SMS7630-061 Schottky diode as a variable load resistor. Theoretical and simulated results show a good consistency in terms of temperature compensation and higher efficiency dedicated to low input power operations (lower than 0dBm) compared to basic RF-DC rectifier.
