Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator Based High Speed Optical Switch

In this research paper, the photonic crystal platform is used to design the 1 × 2 optical switch. The reconfigurable nano switch is made into construction by distinct wavelengths. The plane wave expansion method is used to evaluate the photonic bandgap of nanodevice, whereas, finite difference time domain method is used to measure optical switch functional parameters of losses, extinction ratio and data rate. In order to process high speed optical signals, the designed ultra compact switch appeals to be the appropriate choice.
