A Comprehensive Examination of the WebP utilizing JavaScript and React Library

The performance of webpage loading is a significant determinant of user comfort during website visits. Websites with huge image file sizes can negatively impact website speed, resulting in longer loading times for the website. Hence, it is imperative to develop a method for optimizing the image in order to get a reduced file size. One potential method for enhancing picture optimization is converting the image format to Web Picture (WebP). The picture format in question possesses the capability to decrease image sizes while maintaining image quality, hence enhancing web performance in terms of speed. This study aims to assess the use of images in the WebP format on websites that employ JavaScript and the React Library. Additionally, it seeks to compare the performance of images in the Photographic Experts Group (JPG) and Portable Network Graphics (PNG) formats. The findings of the study indicate that the utilization of the WebP format yields a reduced file size in comparison to the preceding picture formats, specifically JPG and PNG. Furthermore, the image quality of WebP is very similar to that of the aforementioned formats, while also exhibiting a decreased load time. When comparing the WebP format to the optimized JPG and PNG formats, with assuming that the file sizes are equal, the loading times for each picture formats are nearly same. In terms of image quality, the WebP format surpasses optimized JPG and PNG formats.
